House #3 - Inside

There are a few pictures here, so I hope it doesn't take too long to load. This picture is of our living room........sorry, the kids were watching tv!

The carpet we got from the furniture store at Vogelweh for around $80?

You can see in the window that the roladens are closed. Want to know more about them and the German windows? click here

This photo was taken from standing in the living room looking into the rest of it. It is kind of one big room, but a little separated. We use this room as an office, slash breakfast room. We put the island from our house in the states in here so the kids could eat breakfast at it.

Dining room......

You may not be able to tell, but this door that leads to the balcony, is just like the windows. It will open all the way, or just flip up. This is explained on the windows page of this site. Here is the link again incase you missed it! click here

You can also see the radiator on the wall. This is the way that most homes are heated. Click here to see a better photo.

more dining room........in this picture you can see a shrunk. This is what we use for a closet. These are loaned by FMO if you are living off base. You get one per family member and two per military member. This is my hubby's second one, we put it in the dining room to use as a coat closet.

Click here to see the inside of one.

This photo was take from our balcony into the dining room. Here again, you can see that the door is just like the windows.

This is one of our three bathrooms. The third bath only has a shower. This bathroom is on the first floor and we don't use it to shower in. Our second bathroom is on the kids floor. It is the same as this one, but we do have a shower curtain hanging up. Most of the German bathrooms (off base) I have seen don't require a shower curtain, they have always had a glass door. So, this was a suprise to me.

Opps, sorry about the dog food, her bowls are in there too. It is the best place for them.....definately not room in the kitchen :)

Most bathrooms I have seen on or off base have a vanity over the sink.

You can see this one better. This is in the kids bathroom. There is usually quite a bit of storage space in them. In this one, all three doors open. And there is usually a light switch and plug inside one of the doors. You can see the plastic strip above the mirrors, this is the light. The vanity shown in the above photo, the middle mirror is not a door, only the two outside mirrors open.

.........Bedroom

......more of the same. As you can see, she has a door that leads out to her own private balcony. How spoiled is that?? There are two doors for some reason. A regular door, and then a window door.

.....another bedroom. And yes, he has a girl light. This is the room he picked and his daddy needs to switch lights with his sister's room. Maybe one day.

.....more of the same. This dresser we bought at Mobel Martin for about €40.

This is one of our hallways. This is on the second floor (the kids floor). This photo was taken from the stairway area. The first door on the right is the laundry. It is the same size as the kitchen. The second door on the right is the bathroom. Straight ahead is the playroom. Through the playroom to the left is the boys bedroom. And the door to the left is the girls bedroom. The layout is the same on the first floor, it is just that the doors are in different places. Straight ahead would be the dining room. And the door on the left would be the livingroom that is as big as the two bedrooms put together.

Playroom.......... This is where the dining room is down stairs.

...more playroom.
